We are loading up now for a trip over there somewhere, no itinery, so follow out noses until we turn around and come back. 6pm tunnel boxing day and stop in Calais overnight.
Fancy seeing Grenada and Gibraltar if It makes it that far, it is almost out of MB warranty so should be OK, for a couple of thousand miles. I have been gleaning tips from another site so think I have it covered now. I shall set the trip to zero and see what happens. Got Euros and a Post office card loaded as well as my Nationwide card so should be alright but need some change for adds and bits. Twitching gently now, only 7 miles from the tunnel from home so might make it in time unless the jams to get away block it up.
Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS forgot the Spanish dictionary, they will have one ar Eurotunnel I hope.

Dont think you need to worried about out of warranty ours is at least 15 years out of warranty and we will be in your tracks in a month.
Enjoy

Bon voyage... Have fun but take it easy.
Leave some adventures until next time.

We are now inSpain few bits on the way down. The one that really pixxxes me of is the POST OFFICE prepayment card that I loaded with my euros efore leaving, hasbenn rejected at every placeI tried to pay with it EVERY ONE OF THEM, I will have to use my Nationwide credit card as that is universally accepted and has zero charges on it for purchases. Tolls and fuels no problem. The P.O. ones is a MasterCard an has been verified for use. Just not wanted by all and sundry . Spanish tolls are a bit dear an I have come off to the old roads which are just as good and free.
Stopped on NEW YEARS EVE on a motorway service and there was only a few Spanish trucks parked. NOTHING AN NOBODY there, who said Spanish services are dodgy?..... Mo liked it that way it was so quiet and we did make friends with 5 stray kittens, about 12 weeks old, gave the bits of turkey an they would be friends for life. but no illegals sneaking on my van thanks, it would have been the original mad cat woman starter kit that another on here refers to.
I find out now, the things I needed and did not have, gas it converter for Spain, and a
Spanish power converter for the EHU lead., I need to buy a standard Spanish household plug and do some fiddling with the spare lead.

Have a nice time, I hope your warmer and drier than in the UK

.. things needed and did not have a Spanish power converter for the EHU lead.

Lots of spanish site shops sell an adaptor for a few Euros, easier than making your own (which I did!).

Enjoy the trip.

i bought a pack of 3 adapters which i am reliably informed will take me through many different countries in europe.... i did find in France that some EHU campsites/chateaux places had them for you to borrow whilst overnighting there....

Have you told PO that you are travelling abroad ? Sometimes the card provider needs to know in order for the card to work

Where are you heading for, we're north of Valencia?

I have found that REPSOL stations have an adapter that you can borrow..if you need to fill.
Just type in to your phone search " Spanish translation for gas adapter" show the result to the assistant. If there's a language problem.

Pre-pay cards

PO in particular

Not much use in Euroland
AND all the hassle of pre-paying and the charged again for cash

However my PO credit card works well and I have others as backup

Getting cash costs more with POCC
Just use my Lloyds debit card and swallow the fees(2)

SO PO credit card as much as possible (food Diesel tolls)

Get cash before you go (Bank Tesco Thomas Cook or ?)
