Re-Upholster or not, that is the question?

Hi,

We have a 1992 Peuogeot J5 base with Pilote chassis, I recently re lay the floor which makes it look so much nicer. We want it re-upholstered but aren't sure if the money we have been quoted (£1300 from Regal Furnishings) will be re-cooped when we sell her. Does anyone know what kind of value they add other than the obvious appeal factor.

Really not sure if it will be worth the while or not? We are planning on travelling around Europe for 6 months before probably selling her. Views would be welcomed.

Regards

Nathan

Reading between the lines, the interior sounds a bit tired already, a refurb will make her nicer for you and a lot easier to sell at a later date. Given a choice what would you buy, tired and dated or sparkling fresh?

Hi there Ive had two vans re-upholstered by Regal furnishings sold one got good money as the van was like new the other van I still have and use my self. The reason I had them upholstered and new foam did not like the idea of lying in bed after a few owners and pets. If you want to freshen the van up mix baking soda and vinegar spray on removes smells etc. good luck. brandyman

Yes we decided to go with the re-upholstery, I will let you know what we think when it is all done. Thanks for teh advice.

Any decent domestic upholsterer can also do the job for possibly less money, thus enhancing the payback.
My Hymer 544 was recovered for about£600 2 years ago.
