Our step is now mangled, lying in a recycling bin on a beach in Spain.....reminder to check TWICE that everything is where it should be before taking off! Can't get replacement till back in UK, so reminded of our stupidity every time I haul myself into the van!.

Thank you to whichever one of you it was that left us the brand new unused Fiamma Magnum step at the Château de Valençay aire 6 or 7 years back (y)

We arrived at the aire and there was no one there except the step on one side so we pitched up and i put it on the grass verge to keep it safe.

We visited the Château de Valençay and thoroughly enjoyed it then went back to the aire and found that we and the step were still the only ones there.

Stayed the night and very peaceful it was too being on our own then left the following morning and wierdly the step jumped all by itself into our garage o_O

Still using it today so once again, thank you very much :)

mine fell off my roof rack . a few weeks later ,on a secluded beach in Portugal i saw it being used by a german family . i went over to their van ,gave them a cheery ''danke schoen '' and took it back . later they told me they found it by the side of the road near Burgos

We reversed onto a parking space on an aire in France, opened the sliding door, there was a plastic door mat in exactly the right spot We still use it several years later!

steps
while fitting out an old horsebox in maroc for a guy ,i found myself having a row with an obnoxious moroccan guy who was trying to scam me . he'd climbed in via a temporary 4 foot high ladder i'd made from 3 bits of 3x2 nailed to a couple of uprights . in the end i told him to bugger off , waving my hammer .
as he left ,in a bit of a rush ,he misjudged the step and fell astraddle the top rung , crushing his nuts in the process . i can still remember the strange squeal he let out . as he stumbled out ,cradling his nads , he swore that one day he would have a much better camper than me ,M'sieu Brown !

I have a new Burstner 590 with electric step
Forgot the preflight checks and missed the warning light .
Hit a lump of roadside rock with it and had to remove it and throw it in the bin .
Who knew they would be £800 to replace must learn to do the preflight check 😊

Step rebuilt in by me.

We have found a few Caravan and MH outlets in Spain. We have also used Amazon when we were on a site for a week.

Ordered a replacement to be delivered this week as on way home now. The standard plastic ones are no good as we need it adjustable to accommodate the elderly mothers climbing in the van from varying height pavements. Searched high and low for last one and it  was perfect! Luckily the one ordered seems identical!
