Ah, one of my personal favourites!
Raclette is a type of cheese, it is delicious! (Though it does have a very strong smell!). It is also the name of the dish, and the cooker to grill it!
You can easily melt the cheese under an ordinary grill or in a frying pan, however the party cooker is more sociable. At a price though.

I first came across it in a Grotto (mountain) restaurant in Switzerland in the '80's, I've loved it ever since
