Question about wild camping in Devon

Hi guys

Sorry I'm new to all this so apologies if/when I have no idea what I am doing! We have just bought a transit motor home and would like to take it around Devon for two nights at a time (work all the bloody time and some Saturdays) but I've seen that its illegal to wild camp in England. This doesn't bother us if we aren't caught!! So wondered if anyone could let us know of the best places around Devon. We found a great spot on Woodbury common the other day and have done Exmouth beach which is brilliant. Thinking Dartmoor but someone said about the rangers catching you. Then thought about possibly meldon reservoir but found out its a dogging spot!! If anyone has any ideas about nice quiet places to stop in Devon - rural and preferably free - all help would be gratefully received!

welcome to the wildside at the height of the tourist season rangers etc are on the ball, like cornwall Devon is easier to wild in during the winter months. Plenty of CL's around mind that are not too expensive and of course the WC Devon Rally in August will give you the best value for money.

try these

We stayed at the dam carpark

Not wild camping but you can stay over in the car parks at Westward Ho!, Torrington and Bideford but make sure you buy a ticket.
