Hi, I have a quick question to ask. I notice that when many members talk about a new place to wild camp, they often mention the nearest public toilet facilities. I'm not trying to be funny, but why does one need to use public loos when they've got their own private loo on board their MH? Just curious! :)

.....and where do you empty your loo cassette? I know some people go into campsites when their loos are full (we sometimes do) but in the absence of proper French-style aires in this country public toilets are the best option if you want to continue wilding.

I think our loo cassette is quite big so it doesn't have to be emptied all the time. We can empty it when we come home.

What are Aires?

Mmmm.....and there was me thinking you were serious! Well done, you got me.

Surely that depends on how long you are away.

Surely you would want to empty it at the very least on alternate days! We tend to look for a public toilet in a quietish place such as a small carpark and empty it there.

We only go away for short trips - two or three days at a time and there are only two of us. I asked the question because I was under the impression that people were using the public toilets as a washroom rather than using their MH washroom. Didn't think about the cassette emptying! I'm new to all this!

Also, public toilets provide water, if you are out for a while you need top up

What is this "private loo" and "MH washroom" of which you speak. Methinks you are maybe some traveller through time, come to taunt us with your inconceivable ideas. Pah! Next you will be talking of seats that do swivel and televisuals beamed from the heavens.

Ps. It's a Volkswagen and Thetford combo
