Water pump remains on due probably to faulty micro switch on a Hymer van 2014.Replaced the toilet sink tap as that seemed the culprit. The new replacement needs holding down to keep switched off. The old one is too rusty under the blue/red cover to investigate. Despite only one year old.
Laughably we have a kitchen tap that won't swith on and a bathroom tap that won't stich off. Cheap products. Purchased the taps from Brownhills parts store. The original Hymer ones failed and also rusty. Are there better quality micro switch taps out there?

i've never been a fan of microswitches , they're cheaply made and flimsy looking. often there's nothing wrong with the tap, just a failed switch . i'd rather use a pressurised system or even a separately switched system

Agree with Nige, change it to a pressurised system, assuming your taps will hold water without the cable tie lol.

I had the same issue with my Hymer (2016) bathroom tap. I also used a hair elastic to keep the lever down and off. My dealers replaced it as a goodwill gesture, the excellent Donaghey’s of Letterkenny. I did ask for the old tap for possible diy repair but they told me the old one had to be sent back to Hymer.
Taps and pump give a decent flow but don’t inspire confidence in their longevity.
I wondered wether it was a fault in the switch. It seemed more mechanical in that the tap lever would not return to its off position. If I recall the pump stopped if you applied a bit of downward pressure on the lever (hence the hair bobble).
The kitchen tap functioned properly throughout and is still the original and working perfectly.

Had a Hymer B660SL 2008 for 11 years and never had a single problem with any of the microswitch taps.

As metioned on the other forum "Comet" are a good manufaturer of taps ....as for changing to pressure system sounds very messy job to me and I would have though the external pump to be noisey and an extra weak point for leaks...mine is a micro switch system with a submersible pump which is very quiet in use.
