My 10mm PVC clear hose for use between water container and sink has just arrived. Stinks to high heaven in a plasticky stink sorta way! Do you think it'll be ok to use?

I would soak it in a milton or such like clesner first to remove any maufactoring crap and also the guy that packed it might have been picking his noseo worse:eek::eek: ,
I use the same steraliser I use for my home brew kit :D

If its graded "for food use" (or similar wording) it shoud be ok. I'd give it wash through a few times before using though.

Bought it from an automotive dealer via the well known auction site. No gradings. It's clear PVC hose 10mil bore with a slightly purple tinge in colour.

Will give it a good old soak in a bowl of hot water with anti-bacterial washing up liquid in.

Don't propose to drink from it.... will use bottled water for that.

Ta for the thoughts folks!

You would have been better using the blue hose as sold for caravan use as that is food grade. Clear pipe from a motor dealer is probably petrol line grade.

Clear pipe also allows algae to grow inside the pipe the blue pipe doesn't

Decided to ditch the stinky clear hose and have ordered the blue water hose as used in most campers and motorhomes.

Ta for the heads up.
