Pumpkin head unit

They are very popular with the VW Community as they support a lot of the Canbus related "infotainment" features on the newer VW T5 Vans.
I fitted an older one designed to drop into Toyotas on my 2003 Toyota RAV4.

General opinion on the new VW compatible ones (and I have the same thoughts on the Toyota compatible one I bought) is that they are very cheap for the features you get, but the actual quality of the unit (build and sound) is not up to the OEM and best Aftermarket Brands.
Typically you get "free" Sat-Nav for the same price as a non-SatNav Pioneer or Kenwood.

Given my experience of the Toyota fitment (which had the Sat-Nav), when I looked at a replacement unit for my VW T5, I opted for a Pioneer Full-Screen system and used a standalone Garmin Sat-Nav rather then an all-in-one Android unit.

Just my findings and thoughts......

Yes, I fitted one to my 2011 Ducato cab

Fitting was fine but had to buy a kit and surround to make it look good.

Generally pleased with it, for the price. I also got the DAB radio option as FM was always crap with the solar panel, but this still isn't any good on the move.

This pic shows it running iGo Sat Nav, which is brilliant, but I actually run iGo on my NozaTec and run other apps on Pumpkin normally

It struggles with processor power as it can do so much, but more than the processor can handle. I

I set my phone as a hot-spot and use the pumpkin from that.

As you said your not sure what it is then it is pretty much a Tablet fixed in a double Din radio orifice with a radio that doesn't work! . You don't need anything else ie amp for it to work.
Also if you get one I'll give you some tips on the power supply as it has got 'Off' and 'Really Off' to save it booting from scratch !
