Hi, I am glad, as we all must be, that the Pub / overnight data base continues to grow, but I would advise checking first if you are going to rely on it as a stopping place. Something like 40 a week a closing ( a fact that would have broken my old grandads heart ) My own recent experience with the "old bull & butcher near Princethorpe just south of Coventry seems not that unusual. Three stops in four years, different landlord each time. Unfortunately what is OK today may not be acceptable tomorrow. Still mustn't grumble.

Yes you make a good point on landlords changing and would not now
previous tenant would allow stopovers, so it is more important to ring
to see if it is still ok to stay
