Hi all, just joined up. I was wondering about the Pubs shown on the Wild Camping map - have the landlords indicated that they accept motorhomes, or have other campers stayed there and recommended them?

Sorry if it's already on the site, but just finding my way around.

The normal thing is to phone the pub and book a table, then mention you'd like to have a meal and a few drinks and stay overnight if that's ok.

The poi's will be where people have stayed, but you need to check.

I think it’s a bit of both but best to ring before going as Covid has changed a lot of attitudes towards campers some for the good some not so good and some will have just closed permanentl, hope this helps.

Good Morning Kate,
It’s kinda long the lines of Contact the Pub, Say you’re intention to visit on whatever Day/Night, Have a few drinks & / or a light lunch if you fancy it. I’ve even had Pub Pizza & Chips DELIVERED to my Motorhome before 👍
If they know your coming & they’ve got the space in the Car Park Then they are often very obliging. Tip is to get there & Parked Up Out the way early though. SOME may allow General waste disposal, Maybe even a top up of Fresh water, but rare & not to be expected.
It’s also good to post a review but ask them if ok you mention the night stay or not 👍
I’ve never been asked to pay for any Stopovers in Pubs or Businesses I’ve used, But it’s down to a bit of Respect & Not Taking the Pixx.

Think that applies to Wales and Scotland too ?
You can also eat indoors in cafes and pubs in Scotland but no alcohol

I guess the thinking behind the no alcohol indoors is that if people get merry they will forget to social distance etc.?
Indoors is more dangerous for spread than outdoors, so does sort of make sense?

Still pretty crude rules though, imho 🤷‍♀️

Indoors is definitely more dangerous . Alcohol does change behaviour , some of us anyway !
It will be a bigger help to cafes though many bars are 'cafe/bars' so does help some . Traditional pubs will have to suffer until [in Scotland] 17th May
Cannae wait

But Marie, the stuff they give us for our hands is mostly alcohol, so surely shoving gallons of alcoholic substances down our collective necks will render us immune (I think that's the word !!)
