An interesting item on FUN

The public say NO to campervan site (aire) ... News Item. - MotorhomeFun

I think the photographs used are merely propoganda....the one on top right looks like it was taken at a MH show and clearly the bottom two are from a travellers site.

If these people want to object then they should cut out this exaggeration.

How else does propoganda work but by exaggeration. It would be no good showing pictures of well organised clean Aires if you don't want them in your area would it.

While there is a minority that flaunt parking restrictions and have the attitude that they have a right to camp anywhere we won't change this perception .. the irresponsible will spoil it for everyone.
How true

Jus to drag up an old chestnut: Go to Aldeburgh in the winter and the town is deader than a dead thing. No doubt the holiday home owners like it that way but the local traders are missing the extra trade and have said as much.

Cost of a tank of fuel , exchange a gas cylinder and get a trolley of shopping? Times that by two motorhomes a day in the off season and you can see why a trader might like the sound of a local Aire de Service.:)

Back in the Cold War German civilians said much the same about the squaddies in their towns. Didn't half miss their business when they left...
