Hi. Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Me, I had a sewing machine so I can get started on some new covers and curtains for the camper.

Also had "Europe in a Motorhome" by H.D.Jackson. Book about a couple who took off with thier 13yr old son for a 12mth trip around Southern Europe. Will let you all know what it's like when I've read it.

Hi. Geoff, all the best to you and your family, This book sounds interesting cos we have a 13 year old and have toyed with the idea of a european trip, but how could we manage this with his schooling in mind.?
We were thinking about 3 years time when he leaves school.

Regards ,,Lenny

Hi Lenny. Hope you and your family had a good Christmas, from your other post about Boxing day hangovers, your Christmas sounds very much like mine, but we probably wouldn't enjoy it if we weren't so busy.

As for the book, have only managed to read a few pages so far, but on the subject of schooling they decided that the 3rd year before exams would not be that critical, and even within the first few pages there are some hints that suggest that, with home learning combined with the experiences gained, he probably learnt more than he would have at school.

I'm not sure reading the book is realy a good idea for me, given half a chance I'd be off tomorrow and our 12yr old would be all for it, it's just the wife who isn't so keen, I'll just have to keep working on her.
