My thanks to all who have contributed to the 2 threads and also the "Jumpstarter" thread

and

https://www.wildcamping.co.uk/forums/motorhome-chat/67132-efoy-fuelcell.html

We do not need EFOY although it is best it is too expensive for our need (Which is close to Zero...No winters)
No room for a suitcase generator
Underslung too expensive

Conclusion
1 Change my battery or add another
Alpha batteries have this one
Leisure Battery - Cheap Leisure Batteries - Free Next Day Delivery - Alpha Batteries
Getting a suitable battery to fit in the existing location maybe the challenge !
My exiting LB is "only" 85 AH and is newish and has not gone below 12.6V

2 Get an emergency jumpstarter

Reading all the comments and looking for all alternatives I then thought
"Why not enhance LB capacity" so in one sense...JOB DONE !

As it is we rarely use sites and we will not pay up to £5 for EHU
Our existing 85Amp-hour battery has never dropped below 12.6 it is only 3 yrs old so minor "waste in replacing it"
This is so much cheaper and indeed simpler than "Genny or EFOY"

Thanks again to all those who have contributed

hi
why not get a battery to battery charger. we manage with that but have 2 bosch
s5 AGM batteries. they last 5 days easily. but dont use mutch off the inverter.

We also 'only' have a 85ah battery, which is now coming up for 8 years old, we also have a 80w solar panel.
In summer this will last us indefinitely.
In spring/autumn we have never had any problems, not sure how long it would last, I guess it would be weather dependant, I know we have gone 3 days static with it.
We don't do much in van in winter, much rather do long haul holidays, this winter apart from odd days out have only had one long weekend away bird watching, we chose to go to a C&CC site with EHU which was IIRC £41 for three nights with age discount, I suspect we would have been fine on batteries as we drove each day, but with long cold nights we where happy to be on a nearly deserted site using electric for heating and visiting warm bright facilities without steaming up the van.
My conclusion, under present usage patterns we don't need extra capacity, BUT, there is an unknown entered the picture, we both now have electric bikes, in summer I see no problem, but in spring/autumn it may need a bit of 'power management' on the days they need charging, time will tell, if it's a problem I might up the battery.

over the years i have got into the pattern of replacing my starter battery as its 3yr warranty ends,it will be a bit 'tired' but goes, fully 'home charged' into the back of the van alongside my last starter batt and my hardwired leisure ,this started after a forced 3 day stay on Rough Tor with a 'frozen' starter battery,i have never had any problem with using a 3yo starter battery in the back but only use them for lighting and low amperage tv/radio.i would never use my l.b to start the van though!
maybe 'marine' batts are a possible way to go as they seem to be ok for both uses.
