Shame about the miles, but I imagine they'll have been better serviced than most panel vans, give it a ice wrap or paint job and job done as Ford says.

Quite a few of these come on the market Kev at varying mileages and prices but usually pretty cheap.

Automatic as well and as you say, would have been serviced regularly.

Indeed Rob, was I fitter I'd have to give it more serious thought for us.

They sell after 4 to 5 years, the main issues seem to be cleanliness and not repairing minor none essential items, and come with full service history.

A Youtuber fitted one out Kev to a high standard. He and his wife toured in the Artic Circle then sold it for about 30k if I remember correctly.

I'll try and dig it out when I get back from the shopping trip I've just been informed of. :(

Biggest hurdle is Liz i thought, but she's very on board with it so far, gorra get a good price for this one first though, I'd prefer a normal box body if possible and just build one as we like it, than have to fart about cutting a caravan up as most have the lounge in the bit I'd need to butcher.

I'd definitely go for a box body if I were to do another Kev, what I would give for nice straight sides in my van!

I think I would like to do such a conversation Kev, I don’t actually need one but I have the skills, the space and the tools etc and tbh I’m fed up with doing numbers all the time and not actually making something.

This is the one I was thinking of Kev;

They paid 10k for the van (Ex-Sainsburys Merc) but they did spend a lot on it too;

I only flicked through it but it looked like they did a good job but its still cost them £25k for a ten year old relatively small motorhome with nearly 100k on the clock. Unless there are some major advantages of this van to a factory built one is there much of a saving there? When you consider all the time involved you would have to literally love doing this sort of thing to make it worthwhile I think.

The short chassis might kill it, I could probably find a fabricator to add a few feet, then find a box body, but keeping an eye on cost is the hard bit, 3decent size Seitz windows and maybe two Heki 2s.

They went for expensive gear Barry, both internally and externally, after all, they were going to the Artic. They spent £6.5k on external features such as new wheels and belly lockers for a start which most wouldn't do on a conversion. £2.5k on timber and worktops, £2.4k on electrics (fair enough), £3k for plumbing including an £800 toilet!,

I reckon a nice job could be done for a fraction of the cost.

Ah. My fault for not watching properly. :D That does make a difference then.
