A good reason why i always wild camp.went to portrush ni for weekend, didn't carry water with us due to weight.called into campsite to fill with water, manager asked if he could help me told him what i was looking for.he asked if i was booked or booking into site.i told him not yet maybe later.[lien] he said i'm sorry but you cant use the facility's unless you book into site.
Don't ask which site it was. I tried them all and got same answer.
I got water from filling station.

What did you expect?

I admire your cheek for trying, but I suppose they have to pay water rates like the rest of us. I have often wondered if I would get away with it, on many sites there seems to be no checks/controls unless it has a barrier.

Having tried a small number of sites in Ireland on my last trip, I found that I couldn't recommend one of them. Wilding and aires is the way to go in Ireland.

Water and Elsen points

You can always get water and use elsen points along many of the canals across the country free of any charge. Same goes along the coast at many mariners or port facilities along the coast!

Try to acquire canal maps, they are usually every few miles and accessable by road!
