hi ya going to look at talbot express autosleeper pop up type what do owners past owners think the sides are solid type when lifted dose anybody know if they have a problem with leaking at the corners any advice big thank you about 1990 year

We've had 2 Autosleeper Troopers with the solid sides. No problems with the corner seals as long as the bolts are correctly adjusted and much better than the fabric tent jobs for warmth and condensation. We carried a bag of inch square foam strips to jam in the gaps where the sides meet the roof - this deals with any draughts and keeps midges out. Just don't jet wash it with the roof up...

I have owned an Autosleeper Frisky with the hard top and A Mazda Bongo with a soft roof. I would always go for the hard top. They look a little odd when up because of the over hang, but if you want to use the van all year and in bad weather they are brilliant.

hi ,iagree soild sides ar better. years ago when i was a sheldon hightop stockist stan brown the then owner had a real nice solid sided roof conversion i very nearly bought the design off him . but went for hightops instead . soon after they came out on the autosleeper i,m sure it was his design but could be wrong. i muc prefer hightops .helps in the stealth mode .small windows in hightop no windows down stairs . park just about any where. cheers alan.

i had a talbot express autosleeper with the hard side pop up and dident have any probs with with the roof it was just the bed layout that i found un comfy as the bed incorporated the front seats to make the double bed not ideal otherwise the interior was quite well built ( shame about the van body )

a very big thank you for all your replies wildcamping type people

...and another thing... sticking a layer of foam (camping mat or similar) to the outside of the end panels helps with heat and sound insulation. We fitted rails to the sides of the grp top so we could fit a roof rack and still pop the top up.
