Plockton carpark now has "No overnighting" sign and a local who will try to enforce this.
On the road to Kyle of Lochalsh from Plockton.
Drumbuie CR has been turned over so the ground is too soft and a "No overnighting" installed.
Lower Loch Erbusaig has had deep trenches cut across its entrances and a rock barrier installed

It's not Wild Campers who are the problem but a plague of "winklers" who take over areas and, literally, trash them. Plus a higher incidence of crime and, in one case, a serious sexual assault.
Only a few weeks ago an illegal gangmaster was arrested and 16 "illegals" impounded. Some areas on the Skye mainland, used for wilding are now unfit to stop in, even our very tolerant Forerstry are becoming difficult.
As to Plockton,( stuck in Brahan Estate near Dingwall with no access to Google Earth or Canalsman's database),....on the Plockton to Kyle road, the site marked on the right after Loch Erbusaig was available as of last Saturday.

Which site is this, Sagart? Is it one I have listed?

I'm a bit confused ...

Regards

Chris

Hi Chris,
On mobile broadband with a very slow connection, so will identify by road map.

You list 4 sites in the Plockton area.
The first is the carpark. If you then route to Kyle of Lochalsh by the coast road you come to Duirinish and turn right via Drumbuie...site 2 as I listed them.
Continue on to Erbusaig where a site is shown on the right identified (I believe) as Lwr Loch Erbusaig, this is the third site I mentioned.
There is one further on near Badicaul, again on the right, this is still available.
Hope this clarifies

:cool:WHAT IS HIS AUTHORITY AND HOW DOES HE PROPOSE TO ENFORCE ....ANYONE KNOW?
I MEET OCCASIONAL "LOCALS" -USUALLY ELF-APPOINTED JOBSWORTHS WHO TRY ENFORCING WHATEVER THEY THINK THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO ENFORCE.....USUALLY IT TRANSPIRED THEY HAVE NO AUTGHORITY WHATSOEVER- SOME THREATEN VIOLENCE - PRODUCING A CAMERA ND/OR MY OLD RADIO UHER TAPE RECORDER USUALLY SORTS SUCH THREATS OUT QUITE QUICKLY.
NO OVERNIGHTING HAS LITTLE OR NO PROVABILITY UNLESS A COMPLAINANT CAN ALSOPROVE ATTENDANCE AND WHAT HOURS ARE OVERNIGHT? SOMEONE IS MAKING A FORTUNE SELLING THESE SIGNS TO COUNCILS AND OTHERS-THEY HAVE APPEARED IN PLACES IN NORTHERN IRELAND TOO - I just ignore them completely! By-laws should be posted to be of any legal status!

He actually does it by, politely, requesting you not to.
Then by, regularly, returning into the very late evening with generous offers of useful advice on any relevant subject.
Concern for your tyres if you park to close to the glass recycling......useful poo bags in case you've forgotten one for your dog...advice on local attractions...........best restaurants....how to buy a house in Scotland should you be overwhelmed by Plocton's beauty....and so on.
It would be hard to justify this as a "nuisance" or "harassment" unders Scot's Law
