please help - fiat engine

I am totally stuck, i`m looking for a thermostat housing for a 1992 2.5td fiat ducato based hymer and i`m finding it impossible to get one. I got the radiator ok but the housing no chance ! I could do with the hoses to, Any help would be most welcome.........marty

try no1gear, he is the guy for all talbot varients. if he aint got it then no one has.there is also a good talbot owners club on preloved

Join the queue. been looking for nearly 6 months.
The later 2.5 & 2.5t engines are the Sofim factory variants, Shared with the Ranault Master.
Talbot engine does not fit, despite being the same bodyshell. Have been told this by several people now. Sofim engines are slightly different, so you may have to change engine mounts & gearbox if you go for an older engine.
The Renault 25 & Safrane also used the same engine, and we've had more luck finding them.

I have just been looking through Ebay:wacko:--There is a guy on there doing conversions from fiat 2.5 engines to 2,8 engines. --might be worth having a look. Even if you do not go down this route they may have some old 2.5 engines that you could have some bits off:idea:.

thanks for the replies folks, sorry i`ve not responded sooner. It turned out the actual housing is still good but the pipe work that attaches to it can be replaced (steel fittings in alloy - why) i`ll replace them with brass ones 15mm hose tail .
