Places worth a visit

We happened upon this place last week.

We went there for our Summer camp when I was in the Army Cadets at School Kev.

We had a great time apart from everybody getting Dysentery!

We mainly take the back roads to see the real Scotland, or wherever we are, and I looked over and said to Liz, they look like WW2 Nissen huts, then they kept multiplying, so I looked for a way in, amazing place.

Which one is you then Rob :D :D :D

Another place well worth a visit is "The Devil's Porridge Museum" at Eastriggs, a few miles outside Gretna. Just discovered it. Its billed as "An explosive wartime experience"

The website and app Atlas Obscura is a good way to find quirky and interesting places, either near your location or by using a search.

I went once a few years ago on my own, and it was okay. I took Liz the next year, and for some reason, it wasn't so good. I forget why.

The CAMPRA aire at Cultybraggan camp looks OK too - although no chemical waste disposal.
We visited the Devil's Porridge museum a few years back and thought it was interesting. There certainly wasn't any regard to the safety of the women who did the work.
I just looked at the Atlas Obscura site. I didn't get very far with it, it kept popping up with an annoying request for me to subscribe and demanding my email address. I get quite enough spam without actively inviting it!

I tried the Atlas Obscura site too and found it quite interesting and not a single pop up demand???
Found this a couple of miles from us.
