Places to Visit? Newark Area

Next week we are due to collect a Motorhome from Brownhills, and we're thinking of mkaing the most of it and having our first break away for a few days while we're down there.
Can anyone advise any nice places to visit/stay in that area please?
Cheers

When we picked up our 'van from Brownhills of Newark, we stayed at their complimentary 'aire', with hook up, swimming pool, sauna, jacussi and tv room, all for free. We stayed one night and a day, which gave us time to check out everything on board the van and walked into Newark which is a lovely town with a river walk.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, yes we are planning on staying for a night but wondered where we could go on to
after that
Cheers

Visit Newark

You could take a trip on the River Trent. Some marvellous views and very relaxing. Visit the FREE Museum. Go on market day.

What ever you do, I hope you have a great time.

Southwell - pronounced Su (u as in up) - thall Minster is worth a visit. Southwell is about 15 minutes drive from Newark. They also have a National trust Victorian workhouse to wander round if you like a bit of history.

You might also want to have a trip up to Lincoln to have a look around the Bailgate, Lincoln Minster and castle (where the Magna Carta is kept). There is parking down in the city - the University car park is available from public use at weekends. Parking is relatively easy even for a 7m - 8m van as you can overhang at the back of the some of the spaces. Or on road parking on Burton rd or Netttleham rd.
