Places to live

Hi all,

haven't been on the forum for a while as we have been busy selling our house and it's sold... hooray :) The plan is to move back to the UK buy our dream camper and do some travelling and we can't wait.

We will be renting in the UK and can choose almost anywhere to live but so far we are considering Felixstowe old town or Chard on the Somerset/Dorset borders.

I'm sure that amongst all the memebers on here there will be someonw who knows these towns well and could give me some info on life there?

If anyone has any recommendations on a nice place to settle so that we can research.

We are staring off in Felixstowe because we have a nephew there with room for us to stay a while. :)

Good or bad let us know please?

best regards

Dave

That is some request. I would say visit as many parts of uk as you can in your van and decide yourself, or get a map and a pin!

Hi
Holland on Sea.And you can park up on the sea front for some wild camping.
Down by the toilets and have a see view of wind turbine's look around and see if you would like to settle in this area.

Bad move. Stay where you are.

I think Brighton is a great place. I don't live there but have spent a lot of time there. Great shopping, The Lanes, Music, Great Restaurants/pubs, Architecture, History, The sea, The South Downs, The marina, alternative culture. There's always lots to see and do and also walks along the sea or on the downs.

if you said WHY you want to move back to the uk it would give a better idea of where to suggest !

not at all ; as france is a much better base than uk to motorhome from one presumes there is some other reason

not at all ; as france is a much better base than uk to motorhome from one presumes there is some other reason

France might be a great place to motorhome:D ...but the grass is not so green:confused:
heavy taxes and low medical care unless you are french ...or have been an ex pat living there for many a year...
And it is not so cheap to live there anymore... and our pensions don't get any add ons when you are not in dear old blightey:(
Anyway, does it matter WHY:confused: Not at all...:)
