So many head up the west coast forgetting this true gem of a place, and almost midge free to boot Terry. We did same walk a while back Bill, then bus back to Elie. We love East Neuk of Fife, it is a special and stunning area!
Edit, we got the bus back from Pittenweem, not Anstruther, as time was marching on and getting dark (was winter) I can recommend the good fare served at the Larachmhor Tavern, located at the Pittenweem Harbour, very yummy! So many head up the west coast forgetting this true gem of a place, and almost midge free to boot Terry.
Can't see it in the Location App?<snip> The second photo over looking Pittenweem was taken from the car park now opened to five motorhomes overnight.
It wasn’t there, I just added it.Can't see it in the Location App?
It's worth the 6 mile drive from Kirkcaldy to Burntisland to stop next to the leisure centre with the view over the bay.My Parents stay in Kirkcaldy and my niece in St Monans but I’ve never explored the area with the camper.
Some of us have the view over the bay without the 6 mile drive, Jo . Well, we did, until the bloody Summer Fair arrived ... [Sets satnav for Elie Bay ...]It's worth the 6 mile drive from Kirkcaldy to Burntisland to stop next to the leisure centre with the view over the bay.
Isn't there a bit of an obstruction in the form of a raised railway line in the way? Some of us have the view over the bay without the 6 mile drive, Jo . Well, we did, until the bloody Summer Fair arrived ... [Sets satnav for Elie Bay ...]

A very mild one, Jo, but nothing to compare with the 'Old Boot' Bouncy Castle ... . In case you hadn't guessed, I'm not a fan of the Fair, nor of the Showmen's Guild!Isn't there a bit of an obstruction in the form of a raised railway line in the way?
Bill, I forgot to mention, the amount of times I have driven along the coast road and looked towards the windmill, it was during our coastal path walk we came to the windmill, and the old salt pans, where the windmill was used to pump sea water into the salt pans.Walked from Elie to Anstruther today. Took these shots in Pittenweem and St Monans today. The second photo over looking Pittenweem was taken from the car park now opened to five motorhomes overnight.
