Not that bad but
We were booked to Fly to UK via Paris on Thursday 7th Dec.
Last night we got a call from the Travel Agent (TravelUnravel..more on them later)
The flight is not "running" I Checked on a suitable flight tracker website and this appears correct.
We were offerred flights on the Wednesday and Friday..I chose wednesday.
I have yet to receive confirmation / ticket
However I have rebooked
1 Train to Bangkok at minor cost
2 Hotel in Bangkok at even less cost
3 Travelodge at an extra cost of £74 !
With travelodge I always book the cheapest ie non-flexible deal and so I am "happy" to payup the extra especially at short notice

The agent at "travelunravel offerred no help when I enquired about re-imbursement of additional costs.
Either by them or by the Airline.

The whole ticketing back in November was poor
I tried to ring KLM but got throught to Traval unravel ??
The flight to Bangkok was via Amstsrdam with KLM and as above the return flight with Air france
The cost was extortionate over double the"normal" and when I queried this the agent was extremely unhlpful and indeed aggressive.
It wwas almost as if we paif for 2 x single flights
Anyway that is life sometimes !

So 2 items
1 Beware "Travel unravel"
2 I believe I should be reminbured and maybe inconvenience money
Bill @2cv can maaybe advise as to whether I should pursue Air France ( as they cancelled) or Travel unravel.
I will add I see no propect of travelunravel heelping or paying out

After I retired we vowed to (and we did) fly direct (BA Thai or Eva all from Heathrow) but this was disrupted by covid.
We aim to re-instate this

Just annoying.............. if all goes as newly planned simply no problem

Sorry to hear of your difficulties. Do you perhaps mean April as opposed to December? Your entitlements should be covered Here but any travel insurance should cover losses though these are probably less than the excess. Hope that things work out now.

Thannks Bill
Yes the return was 7th April (flight out was 7th Dec )
Now 6th April
I have the ticket (it was in spam !)

Link helpful as it confirms I should claim against Air France.
As I posted the only extra expense is the re-arranged travelodge overnight
No big deal !

Well this is a bonus.
Last November we had a major water ingress repair .
This was done by Cotswold Caravans in Cheltenham.
They also said they could source and replace oor damaged roof-lite (cab)
A bespoke item needed and this was ordered.
This arrived recently and will be fitted tomorrow !
This means the vehicle will be collected from it "winter home" at Newent and taken to Cheltenham.
The repair was authorised and paid for by mt insurers (Congort/Aviva)
Obviously nice to have everyting sorted.
The bonus is that we overnight in Birmingham and we can take the train to Cheltenham
This is more convenient quicker and indeed cheaper than taking a Taxi to Newenr (
Last Taxi was £110 I expect it would now be £125 the train is £23 and quicker
