Anybody going to the motorhome show at Pickering this weekend, I am up that way this weekend so thought I might give it a bit of a browse round and drool over the trade stands! Can you get bargains do you think?

we went last year and were not impressed,
booked in for the weekend and directed to the camping field with thousands of others which we expected, what we didnt expect was the 45 min walk to get to the show ground and having to cross a busy main road although they did lay on buses to get there we like most others walked not really nowing how far it was . so if you go get the courtisy bus. ( in my opion they have spoilt it by moving it from york racecourse ) ...

We're going. Liz wants to look at the motorhomes, I'm going because Freddie Starr's on on Saturday.

northern show

I am thinking of going. Although cannot decide if just for the day or the weekend. I want to look at awnings for the van, ideally driveaway.

Price does seem a little high £42 for Fri and Sat night. We cannot stay Sunday. Then Freddie is an extra £15ea. But if i have the van out for the trip I might as well stay over.

Well if anybody sees me ( I will be wearing a bright fuschia pink shirt and 3/4 length brown shorts. You cant miss me I am larger than life! I will also wear a sticker with nichodiad written on it..if you see me round the trade stands come and say hello please. My son in law is there with the fire crew so I will also be hanging around the fire engine for a bit LOL
Have a good day!

Phoned the organisers to ask about water taps and also about the above. Apparently they used some farmer's fields over the road last year but they do not have these this year and all camping is in the same field as the show itself. Oh, and yes there are taps available for water.

Pickering

Well we are back from our weekend at Pickering Show - and even with the heavy showers we had a good time. The showfield did get muddy but the organisers did their best with wood shavings and a Gully Sucker to clear the large puddles, the toilets and showers were kept very clean and emptied twice a day. Pleased we had not booked the entertainment for Saturday night as Freddy Star was a NO SHOW replaced by the Grumbleweeds who we were told were very funny. We are looking forward to our next show now at Lincoln in September -Sue and Steve

I was up there on Saturday..I too was impressed by the toilets very clean. I was less impressed by the trade stands however. The last show I went to was at york and there was much more variety in the stands, I went hoping to buy lots of accessories but only came away with a box of melamine plates! We did have a great run up to goathland and then onto whitby afterwards so all in all a good day out!

awning

we went Saturday. We thought we got a bargin! We were looking at driveaway awnings, which were a good price when a couple said are you after this one, because we have one for sale. Bargin she thought, £55 saving, she couldn't refuse with my money. Met them later, paid up, took awning away (which looks immaculate), got home and on Sunday noticed it wasn't the same as the one we were looking at. And you've guessed, it wont fit. As I always say, there is no such thing as a bargin!

First time ever we've been towed on to a site.:( The tractor was there for everyone!! We all got stuck up the 'disabled' roadway!!...Neveretheless, we had a lovely weekend. Met friends, and had a very sociable weekend.
We found trade stands to be pretty well the same as any other show..they are all much the same!! But always manage to find stuff I just can't live without

sorry don't know. The bit that fastens to the van goes to 2.1m high. My door top stands at 2.4m from the floor. If your door doesn't go all the way to the vans roof, it may well fit. give it a measure.
