Some advise please,
I have a steering wobble , its not a shake like a wheel is out of balance. At low(ish) speeds when driving I get a wobble (ocilation is perhaps a better word if I could spell) thru the steering wheel its almost like I have a buckled wheel. Its not big but enough to notice.
Now, I'm fairly good at me own mechanics so the things I have checked are:-
All linkage, no slack or worn bits, checked by having wheel moved from side to side and had a good hunt to see anything slack, wheels move immediatley the wheel is moved.
Wheel bearings, lifted front and checked movement top to bottom, side to side no slack.
So what could it be, The powersteering fluid is very dirty would this affect it? I intend to flush this anyway, does anyone know how much fluid is in the system?
I have noticed that when parked if you put a slight pressure on the wheel, not quite enough to turn wheels, you get the same effect in that the steering wheel ocilates very slightly with the pump
Any help appreciated. geoff I might ask you to look at the w/end if thats ok
