Interest in knowing what variation there is in fuel prices around the country. How much do you pay.

The cheapest on the Isle of Lewis. Outer Hebrides £1.49.9 per litre for both diesel and petrol

Perhaps the dearest?
South Uist: diesel £1.61.9. is this the most expensive in the UK.”

Today I paid 1 euro 23 cents diesel, and petrol was i think 1euro 34cents:cheers:

cant belive at the fuel prices, and more increases soon. sooner i can use old veg oil the better, and anyone with a petrol, forking out for a LPG system would soon pay for itself if you do lottsa milage.

Redruth, Cornwall. At Tesco, 1 hour ago. Diesel £1.399, gasoline, £1.379. Slightly off topic. Tesco, I find, quite expensive. It is our last stop when we do shopping. Meat we get at the Pool market of a lorry who come from Bristol. Veg at a stall in a lay by. Dried foods at Lidl and Aldi. Household stuff at the £ shop. What we haven't bought on our list we then go to Tesco to finish off, which is very seldom. I think bread is the only thing I go there for and may be a couple of other items. Their 8bn £ profit after or before tax, is certainly not from me, though I have contributed a few pennies towards it.

i use my local butcher. most of the itme its tesco's, or freezer and discount places. occ i get tescos stuff if its bogof, but easy to get ripped off. i get a 2kg bag of sugar, as its much cheaper than a 1kg, but the 5? kg large bag works out way expensive...

it not often i spend 50quid to get discounted fuel. i use shell usually, its about 1.38 for dinojuice

Yep I find Tesco outright robbery. Don't mind a place making a profit. even an exorbitant one if they can get away with it, but don't like them taking me for a fool.
Tesco Bread........YGuk! never cooked enough. and that is done on purpose. If the bread is just under cooked it will go off faster. I buy bread where ever I see it and fancy it as long as it is well cooked with nice brown hard crusts, it then keeps twice as long.
Must tinned and dry foods we buy from a cash and carry by the case. a massive saving at the end of the year. Meat we buy from Dukeshill on line. At least I know where it has come from and what is actualy in the processed stuff like sausages and their excellent black puds and faggots.
Fuel...... I am still using Tesco pure veg oil which I bought on speciel offer 18 months ago (buy one get one free) and some I got from Asda that the manager said was out of date:lol-053: Reclon I got enough left to last for another 3 or 4 months, then I am thinking of getting a larger van so will run on deisel anyway.
Dont know what I would do without a bricks and mortar place to store it all.

If you buy a lot of fuel, the new Santander credit card with 3% cash back on fuel purchases has to be worth a look ...

Stanley in North West County Durham Thursday Diesel £1.389 per litre

Morrisons Castle Bromwich Birmingham. Diesel 136.9 petrol 132.9

Stoke on Trent best prices
unleaded 131.7 - Asda
Diesel 135.9 - Morrisons and Sainsburys

All the prices quoted by ALL you folks around the country. It seems that Cornwall is really expensive in comparison. Funny it should be that way, because I have read somewhere that Cornwall is the poorest of all the States in the UK. Amazing !!!!

Call me a cynic....but now that crude oil prices are more than 40% lower than at their peak in the spring....are retail fuel prices (even allowing for duty and VAT) proportionately lower?.....I think not.

Glenrothes Fife. Morrisons 1.359, Asda (next door) 1.357 both diesel
Pete

I use Free UK fuel prices. Over 11,000 petrol stations covered - PetrolPrices.com website to find either the cheapest in my area or if we are going somewhere I check a few places along the route to see if there is anything cheaper. Today cheapest diesel around Wrexham is 135.9 & petrol 131.9 at Sainsbury's 1.5 miles away.
:drive:Another consideration is the cost of driving to get fuel, it costs me about 22p per mile:mad2:, there is probably a penalty in reduced mpg if you are carrying a full tank as well. I have a 100 litre tank which will get me approx. 600 miles so if possible I run it until the fuel light comes on unless I see diesel at a good price. Tesco's sometimes have vouchers for 5p a litre off & I think you can use 3 at anyone time giving 15p a litre off:idea: but it depends on what you need to purchase to get them.

You will be sad to hear that your poor cousins across the Atlantic are doing it real tough at the moment. 67 British Pence per Litre for diesel.

Add to that the fact that their parking lots are always 100 acres and have no height barriers and you will agree that they are hard done by.

Mind you, I'm not complaining.

HOW MUCH?????? seriously i can understand why transport costs might increase the price to places like the Outer Hebrides but not why you get such price differences in different places but from the same supermarkets. a few weeks ago i saw a variation of three pence a litre at morrisons in bradford and morrisons in the peaks, it"s not a million miles apart.

Fuel price at moment. Info from Hebrides News.

Lochboisdale fuel station Isle of Uist
Petrol £1.56.9 / litre (£7.156) and diesel is £1.61.9 (£7.384) - The diesel seems the dearest in the Western Isles says a South Uist motorist.

Stornoway prices are:
Unleaded: 149.9p/ litre & Diesel: 153.9/litre

Tesco Inverness:
Unleaded: 131.9p/ litre & Diesel: 136.9p/ litre
