My brother has just come back from working in Saudi, Hes astonished at the price of fuel here. Its 4p/Litre there, Yep you read it right 4p/litre.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Hi,In the late 1950s when there were several octanes of petrol for sale, the cheapest worked out at just under 4 gallons for a £1. About the same time my American brother in law can remember the local supermarket / garage in Tampa Florida giving away a 1 free gallon of petrol for every 4 purchased. Tempus fugit & times change.

Dezi

Pity you've got to live in a fundamentalist country, were normal rules of law don't apply! With some weird regulations.

fuel

It's funny to think water is more expensive then petrol !

If that was the case here I would be out of business as I deal with energy and fuel saving products and systems advising Motorhome, Taxi, Van, drivers of how to cut their fuel costs.

It's similar in dubai, my friend runs a Hummer and it costs him more to fill the washer bottle. lol:rolleyes:

Cheap petrol or not, I wouldn't touch a repressive country like Saudia Arabia with a barge pole. Banning women from shopping in public, driving, obtaining insurance, or hailing a cab is not the kind of behaviour expected from a country that deserves any international recognition.

True and you also get turkish delight as change

When I bought my first motorbike in 1962 I think petrol was 2/8 a gallon (no litres!)
My pay was £3-2s-6d a week with 1/- per fortnight in tax.
I can buy more gallons out of my weeks money now but I would love to go back to that level of tax.

totaly agree with you about these countries and there attitude to women it is not acceptable but the bit about women and shopping mmmmmmmm ;);)

What has happened to the price of diesel? It was always cheapeer than petrol as it was'nt as purely refined as petrol.
Is it because there are now more diesel cars on the road and yet again it is another opportunity to bleed us.
Apart from my HYMER I also have a diesel Ford Fusion.

Fully agree. Her Unelected Majesty The Queen rolls out the red carpet for Unelected Saudi Dictators at Buckingham Palace.

68p per litre

Cheapest place I have seen diesel is 68p per litre in Gibraltar last year.

Just give it time... once enough folks have gone to LPG the same will happen... back in the old days in W Germany we filled our windscreen washer bottles with Dutch gin 'cos it was cheaper than screenwash and didn't freeze.
