Petition against London Emmision Tax

Our carbon footprint is very small compared to Lorries (english or foreign).

Bit of an odd comparison this. Lorries don't travel into london (or anywhere for that matter) for the fun of it. Do people not realise how goods get from place to place? The carbon footprint for a motorhome is the same as for a white van doing deliveries (mile for mile). Should the white van be penalised (thus making the cost to the consumer for deliveries rise etc) so we can drive about for leisure? Just my opinion. I also don't feel the need to sign this.

Will never go to London anyway, go for a weekend trip, on a organised bus tour, but not in a car or a motorhome for a holiday.

Have you missedthe point. The LEZ covers all of the area inside the M25 and some outside it.

If you use this road at anytime and you are diverted off it into the Zone it will cost you £200 no exeptions. I confirmed this with the guys on the LEZ stand at the NEC last week

Not quite all of the area within the M25, but it is the whole of the Greater London Authority. See map Here.

Correct if you are diverted into the LEZ and your vehicle is non-compliant. Also, the daily charge will be £200 for lorries, buses and coaches, and £100 for large vans and minibuses.

I wonder if you can pay weekly lol;)

I think you are missing out on the main point here. This is the start of the problem, if it works in london and it raises enough revenue then it will be brought in all over the major cities and areas of britain. With the rates that will be charged to the transport firms ,who will pay for them??? The rich people of london or will the increases be passed all around.Remember that nearly 90% of everything we use is carried by lorries.
Rember it only takes London to suceed and then everywhere in Europe could follow suit

emmisions tax

what a lot of old rubbish the government is feeding us about about carbon emissions, global warming , greenhouse gasses etc.etc. If we are experiencing global warming, im afraid this phenomenon has bypassed Scotland this summer. Its been freezing up here, i think we saw the sun for a short time around July and yet the "experts" predicted this would be the hottest summer on record. This is the same "Experts who are predicting doom & Disaster. They don't mention the growing hole in the ozone layer anymore now that they have been proved wrong. You may think me some kind of "nut" but i think its a government conspiracy to scare us into paying even more unfair taxes. PHEW! I feel better now thats off my chest.;)

Glad to see some-one agrees mandrake, on the same subject, the hole in the ozone layer they told us was caused by fridge gasses and hair sprays etc.etc.
As the ozone hole was discovered over the south pole, why didn't the boffins just stop the penguins from stacking there fridges with cans of cold beer and spraying each others feathers with hairspray?

Sorry Don, I dont feel the need to sign this petition as I dont think that I am going wildcamping in the big smoke
if you live outside the m25,you are safe for now.but think of the many motorhome owners inside.i think all motorhome owners should sign.or we could sit back and do nothing, and let them take more money out of our pockets.along with high fuel costs and road tax.
