Performance Ford Transit diesel

HI everybody

I was wondering if there was a way to improve fuel consumption and performance of my Ford 2.5 diesel (non turbo) based motorhome Granduca.
Anybody any proven ideas?

Stick a Fiat 2.8 engine in it? :D

Not my field I am afraid but somebody will help you. I take it your injectors are not tired?

There's not much to improve on a non-turbo, a good quality free-flow air filter is about the best you can do, so at least it can draw as much air as possible.

If there's a lot of black smoke then this indicates an excess of fuel which would be leaking,hosing or dribbling injectors - but that's all!
 
as said a free-flow air filter(k&n)remove the linkage bar from accelerator to the air intake and tie open the flap inside your air intake,blank off the exhaust re-circulation pipe(stops any smoking.

im a member of the above forum and have done the egr and pump mod on my 25di ex minibus camper and i can say what a diffrence;)
