Have now completed the bit from Edale to Ikornshaw which is near Keighley. Using the motorhome as a base and public transport to get to and fro worked fine. Thanks for those advising to review my original plan and avoid Ashton under Lyne decided to stay closer to the Way. The walk to and from Torside was a chore but manageable, might have tried a taxi if the feet had been in a worse state. The 2nd day parked overnight at holme moss and there are a few spots on that road. travelled to Torside car park and left the van there for the day, no overnighting allowed. Walked to Standedge where there is a car park and bus stop, 184 bus to Greenfield, train back to Hadfield for the walk back to Torside. Wish i had stayed again on the Holme Moss road as the Brun Clough car park was too noisy, parked up for the days walk at car park near Standedge, walked to the Calder Valley and then down the canal to get a train from Hebden Bridge to Huddersfield and bus back to Standedge. Takes time but works well. Im tending to park near the start as being an early riser I can get on without being constrained by timetables, conventional wisdom is to do it the other way, walk back to the vehicle. Overnighted at Todmorden which is a smashing little town, thanks Tookey, overshadowed by Hebden Bridge perhaps but i liked it, particularly the micro pub called imaniginaly The Pub and the Indian restaurant. Walked to Ickornshaw, bus stop right at the end bus every half hour to Keighley and train back to Todmorden. Train fares are a bit odd different operators have slightly different routes to the same destination so fares are different, only a couple of quid in it so i just paid up for the next one but with a bit of planning, you could cut costs. Looking forward to the next stage, aiming to get to Keld but may do the Ikornshaw to Gargrave bit on its own, if I get ticket for Leeds Uniteds first home game.
