I`m thinking of fitting a pedestal table has anyone any recomendations?.Is it necessary to cut a hole in the floor?.Simply screwing the base plate to the floor is that sturdy enough and will it travel without dismantling it?.There are so many variations on amazon..I CAN GET RID OF THAT BLOODY BIG FOLDING TABLE THAT CAME WITH THE VAN,( i will get great pleasure cutting it down and using it for the table top instead of humping it out of the wardrobe every time we stop for a meal..)

no need for a hole in the floor , there's 2 types of socket for the usual table ,but the one that doesn't need a hole in the floor sticks up a bit !

I had to cut the floor to fit mine NB's pic above looks like the other part that came with ,mine to screw to the bottom of table top

just to be clear ,it can be used as a floor socket or table socket , but if the OP is reluctant to cut the metal floor then the flush socket may fit into the thickness of the ply floor

Our table clips on the wall amd has a leg which simply stams on the floor.
Ol the aluminium frame it ott for you but shoes what can be done.
Many items posaoble
Walk rail and clips
Legs etc
Perfectly stable when travelling

We already had the holes in floor but another plus for the ‘leg in hole type’ is you can get a tripod foot to take it outside.

The Fiamma aluminium leg is worth it for weight saving and ease of use, over cheaper steel alternatives (other than for self defence).

That looks to be similar fittings to our table, leg folds so table can be put onto lower wall rail and used to set up a front bed.
By careful weight positioning can stand on table to look out skylight and clean solar panel.

The OP could of course use hinges to support at the wall and by using a folding leg allow the table to rest vertically whilst travelling
1 table not too long.
2 suitably secured toward the bottom (Bungee or other)

yes good point ,i also do kobudo..

How about one like this, various lengths of leg available , chrome or brown ? three legged base, [ very stable ] top leg socket to screw to any size /Shape table top [ any material ] and the Table can be used in or out of the van, I have had this one for many years, I had it in my first van , the dreaded VW pop top 1600 air cooled engine , hated it hee hee, seeing this post prompted me to search out where it has been stored for many years now, hee hee,, found it though.

Mine can work like that to if you wish, or wall mount away from seats etc.
