I got one using the post office system electronic delivery, electronic photo, paying an extra16 pounds, in 10 day turn round. They told me 3 weeks, but it came back early. That was returned a fortnight ago.
It is not burgundy or blue it is black.
My old one which I retained was Black but see on Gov site their saying blue perhaps touch of colour blindness my whoever wrote it
Edit they also say that it depends Who's looking at It some might see blue where as others might see a bluey black ?
If I squint a bit and force myself I could see a faint hint of blue in what looks straight black to me at first, and 2nd glance. Let us be polite and say there is no yellow or red in the black .
It is sombre enough for a funeral.
However hard I look at my oldest passport it looks black, but apparently this is a common mistake. The last colour blindness test I took was years ago and there was no sign of a problem.
Well now when we present it to anyone we can feel proud to show a nice Black Passport always felt the red ones when inferior didn't show our true identity as British but looks like they've kept the smaller size.
I heard today on the PM's questions that their being made by a French company's Polish factory
my passport expired just before the pre covid £$%^..
I hung on to renew because I wanted a nice new proper UK black passport.. post ******.. wish I hadn't now
I applied for a renewal 3 weeks ago nothing yet received.. a bummer
