Just spotted in our local paper they are going to start rolling out these new id cards in our area they say that you can use them instead of a passport and they are only £30. But does anyone know how long they last are we going to have to renew them every few years and be stealth taxed like the new card driving licence?

Mike

Yes we will be charged big time for ID cards. Another stealth tax by this Gov and the Tories will probably do the same thing. I'm hoping for a hung parliament so the Lib Dems will have an influence and this ID scam can be kicked out.

I quite like the idea of id cards .much better to use when abroad than carrying your passport. we scan the back page of your passport with a bit of word adjusting create a uk id card laminate in plastic looks just like a euro id card .

We have had ID cards for more than 5 years now. We took part in the trials.

I was all for them being compulsory but have since changed my mind in lieu of what details the Labour party now wants to put on them.

ie: Health and Bank details.

I D cards

Over here in Gran Canaria we have recidencia cards,we have photo and fingerprint on them.Good thing with these is we can travel anywhere in spain with it and best of all we get 50% off all flights and ferries with it.I think it cost 30 euro and last 5 years. The public don't mind carrying these id cards but we do get great benefits back, cant see the uk giving anything back at all !!

you must have too much money if you have a bank. cant keep mattress details on there ha ha.

why on earth would any sane person pay 30 pound for a id card ,when you allready have a passport and drivers licence, i totally object to them ,

Thin end of a very big wedge if you ask me, I got nothing to hide but then I don't want to have to start if you get my drift. Try this link,
