Passport Renewal Time Line.

We filled the passport renewal forms in online monday and they`ve just come back through the door today friday as follows.

1, Monday, 02 Jan 3.20pm filled forms in online.
2, Tuesday, 03 Jan 9.35am Royal Mail collected the old passports that needed sending in.
3, Wednesday 04 Jan 2.53pm documents ( old passports ) received.
4, Wednesday 04 Jan 5.46pm applications approved.
5, Wedneasday 04 Jan 9.38pm passports printed.
6, Friday 06 Jan 10.30am new passports delivered through the door,

Just waiting now for the old passports to be returned by tracked courier which we paid extra for.

WELL DONE the Passport Office for a very easy and speedy procedure :cool: :cool:

That reminds me Graham, I did mine online but still haven't returned my old one, which I will do today.

I presume you sent it recorded delivery?
 
We sent ours off recorded delivery, Rob, or whatever the current equivalent is.

Both got our new passports now and old ones have also been returned.

We had to wait a lot longer than Woo has though, they must have cleared the backlog or whatever.

Yes we did Rob, paid for the postage online and Royal Mail are doing free collections at the moment, saved us going to the post office.

You should also have a PEX *** *** **** number Rob. make sure you put that above the address label on the envelope as well, that ties in your old passport to you new application.

We sent both old passports in the same envelope so put both PEX numbers on it and it`s worked great and they will come back separately.

Thanks Graham I hadn't considered PEX number or home collection. Well timed as well as I was just about to head for the Post Office!

We got our new renewed passports in early December. The cancelled passports took till this week to be returned.

Seems the easiest bits take the longest ?
 
Old passports returned today so, 9 days for the entire process from filling the application in online to receivng to old ones back clipped :cool:

We`ll see if the can manage to get the outward and return stamps to Blighty on the same page this time 🤪
