Been there but not with motorhome. Nice spot. Cafe a bit overpriced fish and chips around £15 from memory.
Check Google earth and note how busy it is with field mentioned above open and full. Motorhomes all parked in upper field around edge when busy so I guess NT direct them here on these occasions.
No overnight parking of course unfortunately as NT.
If only lower car park open then sign makes sense as the area in the corner is the only area where large motorhomes could reasonably manoeuvre without the risk of damaging other vehicles. Given that it is used exclusively for motohomes of course which in this case it is not!
Car park usually manned by NT staff as they have hut there and as they have put a sign out it must have been manned on the occasion of yeoblade’s visit.
So a bit puzzled that they were not preventing cars from parking in that area. Sign should be clearer that it is large motorhomes only.
As an aside you can walk west along the shoreline under the cliffs at low tide, or over the top otherwise, to the campsite. We did this and checked prices. £60 a night in high season for a MH with 2 adults, more if you are a family, and it was full!
So won’t be stopping there!
