We are planning a visit to the NEC in October for the caravan and motorhome exhibition. We were there in 2019 and car parking was free. I see now they are charging £12 a day standard car parking, or £20 a day to park nearer the halls. :(

Looks like everyone is trying to claw back money, unfortunately, it is the poorer members of society who bear the brunt of such actions.

Not a political statement, just an observation.

I know that Birmingham council had to sell the NEC to pay the women compensation of over £1billion who had been underpaid for years. I reckon it’s because it’s owned privately now. They sold the NEC for 650 million, snd borrowed from the government to finance the payments.
Our hotel is only 2 miles from the NEC, so we were planning to head to the NEC then the hotel. But now I will head for the hotel and pay NCP £21 for two days parking. Then either walk weather permitting or get taxis from the hotel to the NEC. But these charges are ridiculous, the Travelodge hotel is only £53. I thought I should highlight for anyone else planning a visit. I now see there is a bus from the hotel. So if you are English with a bus pass you have cracked it.

The parking for the show is included in the ticket price, there is no extra charge.

Hi Phil, does this apply just to exhibitions.

Reading this online is very misleading, there are loads of complaints on trip adviser regarding these charges.

Cheers Phil.

Are there no camp sites you can get a bus or train from?

Any money saved is lost in fuel costs Birmingham is about 300 miles away from us. At 60mph we get 27mpg, the car gets 60mpg at 70mph saving about £60 in fuel costs. But if we are down there already it’s worth considering. But thanks.

Parking is included in the ticket price for some exhibitions but not for others. In my experience, parking is always included in the ticket price for moho exhibitions.
