With just over 24 hours before we head for Dover to pick up the ferry I'm trying to run through a final check, including Accuweather to avoid driving straight into bad weather in France. I know for some of the more seasoned motorhome owners on here a month is like a weekend trip, but this will be the longest we've actually been away for, let alone away in Europe and the stress is creeping in. The good news, but not for those of you in Scotland, is that the bad weather is due to last, so I've made the right decision to go to France.
The last time I drove over there I was relieved to get back on the ferry, not because I hadn't enjoyed the holiday, but because I hadn't got breakdown cover on the Land Rover due to it's age and it was nice to be back driving on the normal side of the road. A month is a long time in a foreign country, especially given my habit of looking in estate agents and last time I wanted to stay there:lol-053:
I'm sure I shall be fine once I get over there and with warmer weather we won't be under each other's feet so much, unlike last time we went off in the camper. I suppose if it all gets too much I can always put my wife on a plane...
