A while ago there was a thread posted regarding painting your vehicle, using glossing rollers with thinned down paint etc, a t25 was featured showing the various stages of the job and the finished article. I saved this at the time but have lost it somewhere. No doubt someone has it somewhere out there please, as I plan to do ours in the spring. cheers.

having done two ldv convoys i'll give a tip bout rollers:)go to b&q and buy a budget mini roller tray and a pack of 10 gloss mini rollers, time the breakdown of your rollers, by this i mean they start to come apart cuz this meks a mess of ya paint,i swapped rollers @5/6mins even if they had'nt broken down. speak to the paintshop wher you get ya paint as to what %of thinners/paint is best(i put 10% thinners to 90% paint)they will also advise on primer etc and get your filler etc of them cuz works out a lot cheaper!!!!!!i've dun bth vans (quoted price sprayed 2k) for @ £250 if you need help advice pm me np:)

You can get solvent proof rollers, the paint suppliers can get them.

I have used cellulose and synthetic paint with rollers and the synthetic "coach" paint is superb. I got it from

coach enamel

hi. i have rollered a hgv camper and a tranny camper with brilliant results. for the former i used tekaloyd (no longer available) and the latter, hmg. find your nearest supplier and go and chat with the guys who mix the paint and they will advise you which mix is best. i found gently warming the paint tin in a water bath helped.

who need rollers just stand back & throw the paint at it. you will have a design that nobody else will have.

I've already done that, it's easy to do with lots of advantages. No brush marks or spray bloom to worry about ,even overspray isn't a worry on your property. I try to do them on country lane laybyes you can just leave your bucket there, no cleaning up at all just splash and dash as they say, runs can be a problem though the secret is to throw two bits of wood in front of the rear wheels to drive over keeps it out of the tyre treads clever eh! it's also sometimes better for the environment as i try to use green where possible. Another tip for doing underneath your camper with waxoil etc, with those hard to reach areas in mind, is as follows, pour the substance old engine oil or whatever into two good sized potholes matching your vehicle wheelbase, should be plenty around your area, (easy to spot with yellow ring round) then simply drive through at high speed for a top quality vehicle underseal.
