We are going on holiday to a campsite outside of Bordeaux in August for 10 days, and will be spending two days driving down at a leisurely pace sightseeing France.
Can anyone recommend an overnight Aire or Wildcamp about half way down?
I have the 'all the Aires' for France but am spoiled for choice!!!

Would prefer to stop near water (lake, canal, sea) and within cycling distance of shops.

thanks...

Dave

We have stayed at this one at Oissel just south of Rouen also on the Seine OISSEL Always been quiet there but only space for 3 vans
Further down we use the aire at NERSAC nice quiet village free with electric hook up.

Hi Hope this helps

Thanks

thanks for the ideas.....
Obviously forgot to mention that we would be travelling Dover - Calais !!!!
Also, we can be very flexible with our travel/touring duration as the site has been paid for 10 days, does not mean we have to be there on site, on time  and we can always leave early if we feel the 'need' ....
Thanks again, time to investigate the locations more!

REVIEW

2007 I have stayed here before & it is always clean & quiet although there is some noise from passing heavy lorries. It is well looked after, next to a pretty lake & close to the shops. Church bells can be annoying but they stop at 2200 hours. There is actually room for about a dozen motorhomes here.

2011 "The aire is reserved exclusively for camping-cars, equipped with an artisanal service point, entirely free & next to a small lake. Limited spaces so arrive early!" CAMPING-CAR MAGAZINE
