Overnight Layby Camping Near Snowdon

Am planning on climbing Snowdon on Saturday and was thinking of driving up on the Friday night and parking up in a layby near to Pen Y Pass for the night. Have seen a few on the A4086 between Capel Curig and Pen Y Gwryd. Anyone know if these are good for an overnight stay, or can advise of any alternatives. Was also looking at the car park behind Joe Browns in Capel Curig - anyone stayed here.

Not sure what security is like. I went with a group walking in the Brecon Beakons a few years back and came back to the minibus with a window broken and all valuables / coats gone.
