Can someone remind me what two application forms I need to get the 3.8? and over license, D2 And D4 perhaps. I've already done them but feckin eejit that I am I have forgotten what forms I should send.
My eyes are bleeding looking at vans, looks like we are going to be staying with a big one.
seamus.

Definitely Forms D2 and D4.
It's C1 Entitlement to Drive 3.5t-7.5t. for pre 1997 Licence holders.

D4 you can download, it's for the Medical filled out by the Doc. with a bit of
declaration signing by yourself.
D2 is the Application Form where you indicate your intention to retain
the C1. This has to be applied for, or you can get from some Post Offices,
you probably were sent a copy in the post as a pre 70 birthday reminder.

I'm going on memory. My cousin is the dedicated driver should I not be
able to drive home he's 70. Deal was I had to do the paperwork for him but not
the Med. I think it was that way round!

Thanks for that Byronic, I should have applied for this again last year to keep it continuous, will there be a problem re-applying?
thanks again, seamus.

As I understand it there's no problem, if you didn't bother at 70 and left
it to say 76 then you should still be able to reapply for C1. There's no time lapse
they are only interested that you can attain the required level of competence and health,
even the Feckin Duke of E. could go for it.

Don't forget to make copies of everything. It's the DVLA you're dealing with!

Easy to do

Just reclaimed my C1 and D1 after thinking that I wouldn't need them when I hit 70 - thought we wouldn't change the van but made the mistake of going to the NCC last October!.

Used a company to arrange medical, £50, sent forms off and got licence back in 2 weeks. Also noticed that my licence was to renew next yer when I hit 73 but new licence gives a full 3 years from the date I applied.
