I'm looking at Austria and then onto Croatia in September, so looks like I will need a GO BOX for Austria, are the tolls done by hieght or the wieght of the van? as someone mentioned that it's the hieght that registers at the toll and not the wieght, my van is a Rapido 986F SINGLE AXLE and looks like a standard van other than it was up plated when new to 3875 KG.
Any help[ would be apprieciated.

I live in Austria. The weight limit is 3,5 t. There are a couple of control stations all over Austria on the motorways. But it is also possible to use the federal roads , which are in good shape. Just enter Austria NOT on the motorway, leave the Autobahn in Germany before the border and use google. Slovenia is also expensive and it is difficult not to use the motorway to CRO. As a camper you can use Kat. 2a.- just say 'camper 2a.' You get it at the border crossing.
In Cro motorways are the most expensive but it is possible to use 'kategorie 2' as a camper.

Yes I endorse the comments about not using the MWays. We always drive to northern Italy through Austria via the Fern and Brenner Passes and using the B roads. Lovely drives and no OBU needed.
