That’s it your in the system now. They now have your card details Sold on the black web. There’s a wee guy in hong kong right now buying a Rolex with your card details 😜😂. looks good right on the beach front I’ve not seen it in person but heard it’s good for a stop over or a day visiting Ayr.

If it's a Hong Kong Rolex the little crown will fall off and rattle round inside within days.

dont have a mobile and wouldnt know how to pay........should have a choice of payment......having said that looks a lovely spot.........
The blue sign, you can phone a number and make a payment so there is a choice but finding a call box these days might be difficult.

I thought that HK Rolex lasted until the cockroach died!

Check your V5’s I bet most of you are category “N”
FWIW, I just checked mine and "Vehicle Category" (item J on the V5) is blank. However, I would hope that I'd be OK and that anyone with a permanent conversion that prevents the van being used primarily for transporting goods would similarly be OK. This is because "Category M" is defined as a "Passenger Carrying Vehicle". Of course, DVLA haven't helped with their insistence on categorising a lot of conversions that fully meet the old definition of a motorhome as "van with windows".

Time to move into this century, any mobile will be better than no ph, buy a unlocked simple one and use 1p mobile sim set to auto top up every 3 mths at £10

I downloaded the RinGo app also. Yesterday I discovered where I was required a totally different app (can't remember what it was: I've slept since then).
So I tried to pay by debit/credit card: 5 cards were refused.
So I rang the number: "Why not use our app? It's faster and easier ......"

Eventually I managed to fill in all the numbers and they sent me a text asking for my reg number.
5 minutes later they sent me another text saying they hadn't got it and if I didn't reply within the next 5 minutes then the parking charge would lapse.
Then I got a confirmation saying I could park until 1pm.
Then I got an advert asking me to download their app (but I'm not going to do that using my mobile data allowance, so I could do it at home IF I could remember what the damn app was called).

Better than a PCN I suppose - Gordon

I don't know why they feel the need to stipulate "category M vehicles only"?

In reality that removes just about EVERY non-factory conversion from anything, probably ALL PVC conversions from the recognised manufacturers, as well as the majority of Coach-built Motorhomes, with the majority of those not being Category M. It is in effect an A-Class only Aire (and even then likely to be newer ones only as the category M and N was not used until fairly recently)

(could be why some vehicles have parked elsewhere? they would be contravening the signage on the Esplanade OR in the Aire, so why pay £5 to get a ticket anyway?)

Not had any problems with the ring go app been using it for a few years now. Fylde council use it up at Fleetwood on the ayre they have set up I find it useful as you can check how busy a place is before you travel there.

I wonder how many of your average motorhome owners even know what Category M means or how to find out. I have to say I only recently became aware of it by virtue of reading posts on this forum.
I suspect that most, including me, would just look at the blue 'P' rectangle with an icon of a generic motorhome on it and make the obvious conclusion that it's OK to park.
