Our message is getting through...

Good news. Ive been watching the "NC500 the land weeps" group on Facebook for months now and trying to fight our corner in as diplomatic a way as possible. I notice its been posted on there but like just about everything else on that group, comments are turned off. They need to do something though as I am sure all the negative stuff I have been reading about them being overwhelmed and bad behaviour of campers is not all NIMBY rubbish. I do believe this is how the Aires in France got started though. There was a problem, and this was the solution.

I have also been watching “NC500 the land weeps on Facebook and I noticed that as well about the comments being turned off even if there was just a few replies

BBC News - Continental-style stopovers planned for campervans in Highlands
The BBC opened a 'Have your say' for this article. I read the first dozen or so comments and they were largely positive, I thought. One negative entry referred to opening a tap and releasing toilet waste. They were corrected by a later reply, but it does show that there is still some educating to be done. Unless, of course, that particular commenter was just trolling.

Yes its very heavily moderated. You have to pretty much be on facebook when a threads starts to join in. Its been disturbing but its only one side of the coin I guess. I try my best to put forward positive suggestions like this one.

By the time I see them the comments have been turned off so that in its self is a shame, because there is some where I would have liked to join in with as you say put forward positive suggestions.
