Just some pics of our dog Scrumpy who we took to France for the first time last year. The first one she is just nodding off.

John.

Hi John

nice sun shade;) looks like scrumpy enjoyed herself.
We will be taking our 2 springers to France/Germany this June for the first time looking forward to it.
Did you go by ferry or tunnel? we thought the fery might be a bit stuffy if they are left in the van for 2 hours or so.
regards
Ron

when we took the dog to France last year we used the tunnel - 3 reasons; first that we could stay with him in the van and keep an eye on him, second that it's really fast - about 35 minutes - and third that we exchanged tesco vouchers for the tunnel so that makes it quite cheap. It was really straightforward.

Great photo's thanks for sharing, Scrumpy is a beauty.

Is that the tesco vouchers you earn when you spend in store? Do you know if they still doing them for tunnel crossings?
Might have to change from Morrisons to Tesco if so?

Thanks for that John, we used the tunnel a lot with the bike very cheap, but it is dearer than the ferry for the van, but i think we will use it as you say we can stay in the van and its very quick.
Thanks again ron

Hi Grumpy2 we went on the ferry, as Scrumpy is used to being in the motorhome and we just drew the blinds so she couldn't see who was about so she wouldn't start barking. when we got to Calais she was fine no problems at all.
The main thing was she enjoyed the 3 weeks holiday and she made ours. My mothering law always had her before but she is getting on now in years, so we have started to bring Scrumpy with us.
Here are a few more taken about 6years ago.

Yes that was my Harley Davidson Road King classic I had it 11-1/2 years from new. then I exchanged it for a new Triumph Rocket 3 tourer 18 months ago I sold that last sept and I have finished biking for good after45years of riding, before my HD I had a Kawasaki 1500 Classic beautiful bike that was. we have ridden to Benidorm, Farro, Learett de marr, Holland and all through France.

You get the vouchers sent to you and you can either spend them in store or send them off for other things like restaurant vouchers or channel tunnel vouchers. I think you get three times the face value for tunnel vouchers so I'm pretty sure we used about £60 worth of tesco vouchers to pay for the £180 crossing fare. I have a tesco credit card too so collect points towards vouchers on that too - it makes it a good value trip.
