Ah yes, Motorhome Facts. Your sub would towards funding a rather pleasant lifestyle for the website operator. If you can still read posts on there look for any by Admin or Nukeadmin. Posts from all over the place! And all from rather nice places.
From what I have seen there is nothing that you wouldn't get from here and this is free.
As for discounts, if you are prepared to bargain, then you should be able to get good prices for yourself.

yes looked at them. and you are correct, the only reason i joined was the fact that we are thinking of taking a couple of years out . our daughter is planning onleaving home shortly !!:D and we thought why not fulltime for a while . we can still work and live in the van . the agency we work for say they will be happy to provide employment as and when we need it , as they have branches allover the country so that is no prob .an adress will be no prob also . so if all works out we will more than likely give it a go april time

hi potjoe, the computer typing find it easier with one finger , my daughter types like wild fire with all fingers . as for the fulltiming , we have a bedford cf compas drifter4 birth so called coach built. we are planing a year or so out just to see. we will have to carry on working of course, but as we have no house to sell, as we rent all we will do is keep enough money to rent a place if we find it is not for us, as we work for agencies. we have contacted our own and others and there are no probs with that , so money will be no problem that way

Yes, and the Motorhome Facts will not give their IBAN and BIC numbers for paying a membership.
Have asked them twice and still no response, just wonder why - err, think I know why... :D

If you ever consider a visit to Sweden, check in on http://www.husbilsklubben.se/forums/
and make your questions, there is a rudimentary English section in that forum but you will certainly get answers, there is a lot of helpful English speaking people there.
And if you pay the small membership you will get access to the large and very informative (many photos!) list of 'stellplätzen' in our country, nearly all of them free of charge to park on. And all of the places have their GPS coordinates in WGS84 specified.
And yes, the IBAN and BIC numbers are on the entry web page!

had a quick look at the site. nice idea , and if we ever got chance we will visit thanks

Well, good site, baloothebear, however slightly lean for info about places in Sweden at the moment. :D

But the GPS coordinates displayed for the listed places on that site is very nice info, that info is more and more important as GPS use goes up, if not familiar with the local language one can at least find the place!

At http://www.husbilsklubben.se/forums/ there has been some discussions about the 'Stellplatz' info language.
It would be very nice to have the info in english (beside the local idioma) but that requires some extra work for the site admin - more coding - and at the moment there is'nt a majority in favor of that.
The idea is not completely dropped, though. :)

if you have to pay ???

DONT USE IT
be happy that this site is free and use it as much as poss the info on the pay sites is the same as this but they may be a little bit faster at putting it on the web ,but be patient as all the info will filter through to us.
after all wild camping is also a way of saving money and a way of life so be patient and enjoy this free site

Funnily enough I don't mind the idea of paying for website use providing the money is going towards the greater good, ie a decent magazine, Meets organisation etc: If I am paying then I do like to see properly auditted accounts. If I get the idea that I might be subsidising some-one's fun and games then I would take exception to that. I would not subscribe to any site like that and cannot understand why anyone would.
Some sites run extremely good forums but are there to earn money for their operaters and I have no problem with those. Others such as this one are free, again "Great"

Basicly it's a good idea of the Swedish to open an english forum. (Saw there is another 'belgian' in it -we do every language don't we ?).
Personally I have been MH-ing in Scandinavia for 7 yrs. So been hit by the scandinavia-disease! Going back every year. Amused myself of making lists of wildcamping spots; it's nearly becoming a book rightnow.
If you do want info about spots throughout Danmark, Sweden and Norway; I'll be glad to share. It'd a little to much to send: this site would have a congestion.

The pay site me thinks is not on @£10.00 must be nice for the man that set it up just sit back and see all that money coming in,with 19.??? poeple that have paid no need to go to work!. Regards John
