Could anybody tell me if the orkney ferries need to be booked in aug or is it a case of turn up and go . Thank , Bryan.

Hi Bryantalbot,
welcome to the site, and think I would tend to book, shame to go all that way and "miss the boat"
We are off to the Outer Hebrides this year also in August, but have booked the main ferry's from Oban and return to Ullapool, just to be safe, once on the Islands, doesn't realy matter about the internal ferry.
