Just looking back on some of the pictures we have been taking this trip. Usually rely on matching the date of the picture to the date on where we stopped (When we stop somewhere I add the place as a POI giving it the date for the name of the POI) this then allows us to fill in the gaps of when & where we stayed but also what it was like. Wife does keep a diary (sometimes) but occasionally we seem to lose a few days. Trying to jog our memory on a place we had stayed at, I looked at the pictures only to find the date was all screwed up. Most of the pics seem to be dated 2009  but some were 2011 :rolleyes2: don't know what happened. Set the date correct now but have to just guess at the rest.

If you check the dates, you will find that all the 2009 ones are off by the same amount.

If you know the date and time of one photo, you can adjust all the dates by whatever the difference is using one of the programs designed to do that sort of thing.

The best one is ExifTool by Phil Harvey. It can fix dates and change or read all the data associated with your photos. Not super easy to use, but very powerful. You can fix all the files with one command line.

There are also various "GUI wrappers" that make the program a bit easier to use.
