Oooops.....

Very sad, but unfortunately kind of their own fault?

I wouldn't be wanting to park our campervan on a sandy beach like that - and certainly not a moho that size.
What were they thinking?!

Actually that beach which is 3 miles long has loads of hard sand on it. Every day in summer it has hundreds of cars and vans on it, usually without mishap but you fo need to watch the tide and park where the others are parked. Stunning beach with a mountain backdrop.

So the tides come in very quickly, a bit like the Lindisfarne crossing, or Morecambe sands, so catches people unawares if they're not familiar with the area?

I'm assuming there will be information boards warning people though?
There are at Lindisfarne. It's a case of 'visitors beware' ! :)

This happens at Folkestone a couple of times a year . People drive onto the beach tide out. Launch there boat of the trailer. And away they go sailing for a few hours. When they return the tide has come in and there vehicle has had a free wash inside as well as outside. Brian

We were treated to a spectacular display on knobbish driving expertise on Yynaslas beach near Borth a couple of years back by some flash git in a brand new range rover sport (very road based tyres)
Showing off in front of his flashy girlfriend...

Stuck to the gunnals in the sticky mud in no time....

Offered a generous payment but asked him to donate to RNLI instead...

I always view sand with suspicion.... Especially parking on it for any time
